Tyke Swim

Tyke Swim is a special time for little ones and their parents.  Please join us Tuesdays and Fridays during the school year for some water fun!  You are welcome to come any time between the hours of 9:00-11:00 a.m.  The cost is $3 per swimmer and parents are free if they are just there to watch their child swim.

 

Days/Times:    Every Tuesday 1:00-3:00pm and Friday 9:00-11:00am

Deadline:         There is no need to register.  Please pay at the front desk.

Program:         Throughout the school year

Butterfly Ball (Dad & Daughter)

This event is a formal dance for the little princesses!  Daughters ages 3-6 are asked to come with their father, uncle, brother or grandpa etc.  Moms can watch the Grand March and then will be asked to leave so they can have some special time together.  There will be Subway sandwiches, chips, cookies, beverages, music, dancing, games and small crafts. The Social will begin at 2:00pm and the Grand March will begin at 2:30pm.

Strider Bikes

Strider Bikes are non-pedal bikes that build confidence and eliminate fear by allowing riders to have their feet on the ground and progress at their own pace.  This bike allows children to concentrate on the fundamental skills of balancing, leaning and steering while propelling the bike in a natural way.  Helmets and bikes are provided by WPRD (but you may bring your own.) Sessions will meet at the ARC.

Parent-Child T-Ball League (5-6)

The general goal of this program is to teach kids positive sportsmanship and to have fun. The first two weeks will consist of large group practices.  Game schedules and Team Rosters will be put together by Recreation staff. Parent Volunteers are needed for this program to run successfully. Each team will be managed by a Parent Volunteer Coach and all other participants parents will be required to volunteer to help during at least two game days.

This program will take place at WESTERN STAR.  Watch for an email before the program begins to find out where your child will be for stations.  "Please check your junk folder if you are not getting the emails by the start date.

Parent-Child T-Softball League (5-6)

NEW TEE SOFTBALL!! The general goal of this program is to teach kids positive sportsmanship and to have fun. Participants will be taught the basic fundamentals of SOFTBALL. Same concept as tee ball but will use a flex softball.The first two weeks will consist of large group practices with games beginning on the third week of the program. Game schedule and Team Rosters will be put together by Recreation staff. Parent Volunteers are needed for this program to run successfully. Each team will be managed by a Parent Volunteer Coach and all other participants parents will be required to volunteer to help during at least two game days. Volunteer responsibilities will be communicated and assisted by Recreation Staff.

Youth 1 Mile Run @ the Xtrek

Get ready little athletes of Williston!  It's time for you to get muddy in our dirtiest Bakken Xtrek ever!  (We say that every year but we are serious this time!) ;)  We have some new obstacles this year and there are some unique twists to this fun event.  

Be sure to sign up early because prices will go up $5 on June 23rd!

Move N' Groove (Me & My Buddy)

This 6 week parent and tot program is designed to help develop coordination and physical movement skills while encouraging exploration, imagination and play!  Your little one will have a blast interacting with you and others to some fun music! Parent participation required.

Move N' Groove (Preschool)

At this crucial development age, young ones need physical activity, as well as activities that tap into social, mental and emotional development.  Move 'n Groove is a 6 week program inspired from 'The World Groove Movement' that uses movement and creativity to develop coordination and skills for running, jumping, balancing and throwing.

Child Sitting

Come over and check out our Child Sitting Department!  Your child will have a great time with their new friends coloring, creating crafts, dancing and playing around on our playground equipment.  We will take great care of your child while you get in a workout, computer work or just time for yourself!  Parents must remain in the building for their 90 minute session.  Looking forward to meeting you!

Times/Ages:    6 Months to 7 years (3-6 Months from 1:00-4:00 daily)

Cost:                 $5 for 90 minutes of care.  *Monthly specials available!

Jump Start Program

Jump Start is a fun, functional fitness program for children 5 to 10 years old. Each session has a specific theme but programmed to instill healthy habits, strength, stamina and flexibility to improve skills and confidence in their abilities.  Each day kids will meet in the gymnasium with there teacher and from there they will take them where they need to go!  The Jump Start Program runs during the school year.

 

Register:          This is a "drop-off" only in the gymnasium.  No registering required.

Times/Ages:    4:15-5:00 p.m. Mon-Thurs, Ages 5-10 years old

Cost:                 Free to members, daily fees for guests

Youth Soccer

Participants will focus on learning the basic skills associated with the sport of soccer through fun, interactive play.  A parent or adult representative is required to assist the instructor with their child for the 3-4 year old age group.
