As the Mini Kickers & Kinder Kickers Head Coach, you will introduce children ages 3 to 6 to the game of soccer through fun, engaging activities that build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport. You will create a positive and exciting environment while leading players, volunteers, and families through a successful four week program.

Job Title: Mini Kickers & Kinder Kickers Head Coach
Department: Williston Parks & Recreation
Status: Part-Time
Hourly Wage: $16-$20/hr DOE
Supervisor: Recreation Staff
Essential Job Duties:
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate soccer activities, skill stations, and mini-games for children ages 3–6.
- Create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment that promotes learning, confidence, and fun.
- Teach the basic fundamentals of soccer while emphasizing participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Supervise participants throughout all scheduled program activities and maintain a safe playing environment.
- Coordinate and provide direction to assistant coaches and volunteers during each session.
- Set up and tear down equipment before and after each program.
- Communicate professionally with parents, participants, volunteers, and WPRD staff.
- Monitor equipment and playing areas for safety concerns and report any issues immediately.
- Report participant injuries, incidents, or behavioral concerns in accordance with WPRD policies.
- Follow all WPRD policies, procedures, and program expectations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and assignments as directed by Recreation staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides direction and oversight to assistant coaches and volunteers during assigned program sessions. Responsible for ensuring activities are conducted safely, professionally, and in accordance with WPRD expectations.
Guidelines:
- Include the Park District Policies and Procedures. These guidelines are clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
Knowledge Required by Position:
- Knowledge of basic soccer skills and fundamentals.
- Ability to effectively teach and engage young children in a positive learning environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead groups of children while maintaining a safe and structured environment.
- Ability to interact professionally with participants, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to make sound decisions and appropriately handle minor conflicts or behavioral concerns.
- Ability to adapt activities based on participant age, skill level, and group size.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must be available to work Saturdays during the scheduled program season.
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
- Soccer playing, coaching, or instructional experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform the essential physical and mental functions of the position.
- Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with parents, participants, volunteers, and staff.
- Must successfully complete any required WPRD background screening for the position.
