 What is Ballin' in the Basin?

Ballin' in the Basin is Williston Parks and Rec's semi-annual Youth Basketball Tournament. Starting in 2018, basketball teams, girls and boys grades 3-8, traveled from Minnesota, Canada, Montana, and various parts of North Dakota to participate in this tournament. In 2019, it was awarded the ‘Event of the Year’ by the Williston Community Visitors Bureau (CVB) and continues to establish itself as a staple in upper Midwest Travel Basketball. Our last tournament, we hosted 100+ teams, resulting in over 14,000 visits to our facilities in the two-day span. Because of the popularity of this event, we are expecting even more expansion in the years to come! 

Due to its success and demonstrated growth, our December Ballin' in the Basin is an official qualifier for the North Dakota State Championship March 6-8 2026, in Fargo, ND!  All teams finishing 1st or 2nd in each division qualify for the State Championship to battle top teams from throughout the Region.
