Youth Program Policies

Media Release
- The Williston Parks & Recreation routinely captures photos and videos of participants and visitors in our programs and facilities for promotional purposes. By participating in or using our facilities, you grant WPRD the right to use and publish images of you or your minor child. Please note that no monetary remuneration will be provided for these images. Parents must contact the program coordinator or marketing department if they wish to decline participation in marketing efforts
Registration
- Eligibility: Participants must meet age or grade requirements specified for each program.
- Fees: Registration fees must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. Fee waivers may be available upon request based on financial need.
- Deadline: Registration deadlines will be communicated in advance. Late registrations may be accepted at the discretion of the program coordinator.
Behavior Expectations
- Participants are expected to demonstrate respect towards coaches, staff, and fellow participants.
- Bullying, harassment, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the program.
Coaching and Supervision
- All coaches and volunteers must undergo background checks and liability waivers before working with youth participants.
- All special requests of teams must be approved by the program coordinator. Please note that not all requests may be granted.
Safety and Health
- First aid kits will be available at all program locations. Program coordinators are trained in basic first aid and CPR.
- Participants displaying symptoms of illness should remain at home to prevent the spread of illness.
Equipment and Attire
- Participants are responsible for their personal equipment and attire. Proper clothing and footwear must be worn during activities.
- Any equipment provided by the program will be stated in the program information email.
Communication
- Parents/guardians will receive regular updates regarding program schedules, events, and important information through email.
- Open lines of communication between parents, coaches, and program staff are encouraged.
- All program cancellations and location changes will be notified by email, Statusy, and WPRD Facebook.
Refund Policy
- Full Refund: Participants will receive a 100% refund if notification is received before the program's start date.
- Medical Refund: 100% refund for medical reasons
- Pro-Rated Refund: Participants withdrawing from the program after it has started will receive a pro-rated refund based on the remaining sessions.
- No Refunds: No refunds will be issued after the program has reached the halfway point
Grievance Procedure
- Any concerns or complaints should be directed to the program coordinator within 24 hours of the incident. An investigation will be conducted, and a resolution will be provided within a reasonable timeframe by the program coordinator and Recreation Manager.
