RFCC and ARC Facility Improvements

Williston Parks & Recreation is moving forward with planned updates to the Raymond Center and ARC facilities as part of a long-term effort to modernize recreation spaces and enhance community programming in Williston. The project is expected to be completed in phases, allowing improvements to move forward strategically while maintaining flexibility with funding and facility operations.

The renovation effort focuses on improving athletic, recreational, and community-use spaces while addressing long-term building performance and operational needs. Community engagement and stakeholder collaboration will remain central throughout the design and development process.

Interior Raymond Center Facility Improvements

The primary focus of the project is a major reconfiguration of the main level, including upgraded wrestling space, updated locker rooms, and improved first-floor programming areas. Wrestling facilities have been identified as a top operational priority and remain a key component of the project scope.

Base improvements also include upgraded HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems along with a complete build-out of the primary interior spaces. The renovation is designed to improve functionality, flexibility, and the overall experience for athletes, families, and user groups.

Additional upper-level improvements, including dryland training areas, flexible classroom space, and expanded storage, are being evaluated as alternate phases that can be completed as funding allows.

Raymond Center Exterior & Site Improvements

Exterior improvements are planned to improve durability, efficiency, and visitor experience. Proposed upgrades include full siding replacement and an expanded front vestibule to improve traffic flow, accessibility, and weather protection while creating a more welcoming entrance.

The project also aligns with broader site enhancements being explored throughout the surrounding park area, including parking improvements, circulation updates, and complementary recreational amenities.

Williston ARC Improvements

The Williston Area Recreation Center will also see several interior improvements designed to enhance the guest experience and improve facility operations. Planned updates include reconfiguring the front desk area by pushing it farther back to create a more open, welcoming entrance environment for members and visitors. The redesign will also improve traffic flow and functionality during large group entries and community events.

Additional improvements include transforming the current teen lounge area into a new operations and concessions space. This addition will provide guests with convenient snack and beverage options while using the facility — a feature that has long been requested by ARC users and community members.

Community Collaboration

Community engagement remains an important part of the planning process. Workshops and stakeholder meetings will continue throughout design development to gather feedback from user groups and ensure the updated facilities reflect long-term community needs.

The phased approach allows the project team to prioritize essential improvements first while planning for future enhancements that support expanded recreation opportunities.
