Events & Programs

Why is WPRD Closing?

  • The health and safety of our members, our staff, and our community are our top priority and this decision was not made lightly, but out of an overabundance of caution and to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Current recommendations by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) are to practice social distancing to slow the spread of the virus

Will this closure replace the ARC closure week in the fall?

  • Yes and no. We have some areas we will need to close down in the fall to do projects on. But they will be minimal.  Staff have worked hard this week to deep clean both the ARC & RFCC for when we open. We will continue to keep them clean for our patrons upon re-opening.

What will be closed?

  • This closure includes the Williston Area Recreation Center (ARC), the Raymond Family Community Center (RFCC), WPRD District office, as well as all programs thru WPRD.

Will WPRD clean the facilities while closed?

  • Yes, we have been doing extensive deep cleaning and sanitizing the ARC & RFCC since we have been closed.

When will we know more?

What happens if a program I am enrolled in is cancelled?

  • Program Supervisors/Coordinators will reach out to those who have registered for programs and events scheduled during this time. We will work with all our customers to provide the best outcome that we can in terms of credit or refund.

What if I have questions?

  • Staff will be checking emails and phone calls and doing our best to keep you informed. Please understand that we are also trying to stay healthy with our families as well.  For the most up to date information check our website and Facebook page.

  • You are welcome to email different departments if you have questions:

When do you think you will re-open the ARC and programs?

  • The WPRD leadership team will be evaluating the status of the virus and follow the guidelines set by the Governor, City Officials, CDC and the industry experts. And will make the decision to reopen when we feel it is safe for you all to come back to enjoy the ARC and all of our programs.

What will WPRD Staff do during this time?

  • Behind the scenes, we will continue with essential staff to ensure our facilities, events, programs resume as soon as it safe to do so. We will be monitoring the buildings mechanical systems as well as preparing for re-opening. We have been cleaning & sanitizing both facilities this past week, so when it is time to re-open we are ready!
